2020 has certainly been a doozy- can we get an Amen? It is easy (and totally understandable) to get bogged down in the challenges of our own lives. Let’s be fair- we, as mamas, are spinning ALL the plates!
Sometimes what we need is a little perspective and a lot of gratitude, and GCS Moms League’s Community Events Team is here to help!
We love this league for the friendships and the events, but our League is also very committed to giving back to our community.
DECEMBER SERVICE PROJECT: CHRISTMAS IS FOR CHILDREN
Help out our community efforts without leaving home!
We’d like to officially announce our annual Christmas Service Project! We are thrilled to be partnering again with Christmas is for Children- a local, nonprofit based in Southlake that is dedicated to providing underprivileged children toys, goods, and care during the holiday season.
Since COVID has created some logistical nightmares, we have decided that instead of sponsoring individual angels this year, we are going to host a bulk toy drive.
Please drop off any NEW and UNWRAPPED toys to our collection site (click here to email us for address) between Friday December 4th and Tuesday December 8th.
If you cannot make those dates, please reach out so we can schedule a pickup. ANY new toy is welcomed and appreciated, but here is a list of their most requested toys:
Sports balls: soccer, football, basketball, volleyball
Lego sets (for all ages)
Dolls: Barbies and baby dolls
Hot Wheels sets or other toy cars
Board games (for all ages)
Art/Crayola sets (for all ages)
Disney Princess items
OR, click here to view our Amazon wishlist where purchases are shipped directly to our dropoff location.
Let's spread some holiday cheer and put some smiles on local childrens' faces! Please feel free to reach out to our Community Events team with any questions!
PREVIOUS SERVICE PROJECTS
November 2020 featured TWO great charitable opportunities: Cards and Coats! Thank you to all of the members and community that helped us EXCEED OUR GOALS FOR BOTH EFFORTS!
CARDS FOR COMMUNITY
Perhaps no one has felt the devastation of COVID more than our senior citizens and military members, so we really want to brighten their holiday season. We collected more than 200 Happy Holiday cards to distribute to nursing homes in our area and military members overseas. #GCS200Cards
We also hosted a Coat Drive with One Warm Coat and collected more than 100 coats for adults and children in our community. THANK YOU to all of our generous participants! #GCS100Coats!
