| Q: | What are the criteria for membership? |
| Although most of our members are stay-at-home moms living in the Northeast Tarrant County area who have young children, the GCS Mom's League welcomes all area moms (and dads!) who are looking for friendship, support and sharing. | |
| Q: | What are the benefits of joining the GCS Mom's League? |
| See our Member Benefits page for a list of activities and benefits we offer. | |
| Q: | What months of the year do you meet? |
| Our league runs September through May; however, many of the clubs and playgroups continue to meet throughout the year. | |
| Q: | What does it cost to join, and what payment methods do you accept? |
| The dues are $50 per year. Currently we accept payment by check only, but hope to soon offer payment through PayPal. | |
| Q: | If I join in the middle of the year, do I have to pay the full membership fee? |
| No. The membership fee is prorated throughout the year, so you only pay for the remaining months left in the active year. | |
| Q: | How do I join? |
| Simply print out the Membership Enrollment Form, fill it out and mail it with a check for the appropriate dues. The mailing address is listed at the bottom of the form. You will be contacted when your application has been received. In the meantime, feel free to join us for the next event! | |
| Q: | Can I fill out and submit the enrollment form online? |
| Sorry, not at this time. But watch for that feature to be available in the near future! | |
| Q: | What if I'm interested but not ready to join yet? |
| You are welcome to attend up to two events and/or one meeting in order to get to know us before deciding whether you would like to join. If you are interested in attending a meeting and require childcare, please contact our Childcare Reservations Chairperson. |
| Q: | When and where do you meet? |
| We hold monthly breakfast meetings September thru May. Please see our Meetings page for exact dates and location, as well as information on what a typical meeting entails. | |
| Q: | Is childcare available at the monthly meetings? |
| Yes, with a reservation. We will try to accommodate walk-ins as space allows. For more information, including cost, please see our Childcare Information page. | |
| Q: | Do I have to use the childcare at the meetings, or can my child stay with me? |
| For the benefit of all members, we ask that you use our childcare service for all children over the age of 10 months. |
| Q: | What activities does your organization offer? |
| Each month there are a variety of activities available to choose from. There are "moms only" get-togethers, "couples night out" events, children's activities, and family outings. There are also special-interest groups such as Book Club and Craft Club, as well as community service activities and "moms helping moms" opportunities throughout the year. For a complete list of our activities, check out the Activities tab on our main menu. | |
| Q: | I work during the week. Do you offer any evening or weekend activities? |
| Although most of our children's activities are offered during the weekday, we have many "moms only" activities in the evenings and family outings on Saturdays. | |
| Q: | Do you offer any activities for dads? |
| Yes. We have a Dads Playgroup that usually meets one Saturday a month. Activities can include anything from a puppet show, to a visit to the park or a trip to the zoo. | |
| Q: | Do you offer any "drop off the kids" events? |
| No. All of our children's activities require that a parent remain with their children at all times. | |
| Q: | Do you have a sample calendar of events that I can look at? |
| Check out our "Upcoming Events" calendar on our home page. It lists all of the events we have scheduled for the current month. | |
| Q: | How can I see the details of an event on your "Upcoming Events" calendar? |
| You must be a member to view our calendar details. If you are thinking about joining the League and are interested in attending an event, please send an email to our League Secretary and the specific event details will be forwarded to you. |
| Q: | How are your playgroups organized? |
| Playgroups are organized based on the children's age and the date and time that the playgroup meets. Each playgroup has a coordinator who is responsible for coordinating the playgroup schedule and ensuring that all playgroup guidelines are followed. | |
| Q: | Do you allow siblings to attend playgroups? |
| Yes, if all members of the playgroup agree. | |
| Q: | Can I join a playgroup without becoming a member of the Mom's League? |
| No. Membership is required to participate in a playgroup. | |
| Q: | How do I join a playgroup? |
| Simply print off the Playgroup Enrollment Form, fill it out and mail it to the address provided on the form. You will then be contacted with potential playgroups that meet your requirements. | |
| Q: | What if I join a playgroup and it doesn't work out? |
| Every effort is made to ensure that members are matched up to playgroups that meet their needs. If, however, you find that your playgroup is not a good match for you, we will attempt to find another playgroup for you, if you so desire. | |
| Q: | Is there a cost associated with being in a playgroup? |
| No. Membership in playgroups is free. |
| Q: | Who do I contact if I have trouble viewing your website? |
| For problems with this website, please contact our webmaster. |
